2015
A mission for accessible justice
LawAdvisor was founded by Brennan Ong, a software engineer turned lawyer and while completing his PhD looking at the future of legal practice, launched LawAdvisor with the ambitious goal of creating a "Google for law" to make legal justice accessible to everyone. This vision struck a chord with thousands of users in Australia and attracted high-profile investors, including Lars Rasmussen, co-founder of Google Maps.

Uncovering systematic inefficiencies
Working closely with lawyers, we uncovered systemic inefficiencies in legal service delivery. While other industries embraced digital workflows, the legal sector remained stagnant. It was clear there had to be a better way.

Pivoting to build micro services
Recognizing this, we further developed our product suite to create modern day tools to service law firms and corporate legal departments. Some of our highlights include the digitization of property contracts in Australia through our partnership with PEXA (Property Exchange Australia). Australia - via PEXA - is one of the first countries in the world to have digitized the entire conveyancing process and LawAdvisor was tasked with creating the technology for the creation, negotiation, and execution of contracts.

Barclays approached us with a critical challenge: ensuring the right work was sent to the right firm at the right cost. While their legal operations team had the people and processes in place, they needed cutting-edge technology to match. At the same time, a number of law firms also approached us with a focused brief: how do we better communicate and collaborate with our clients, especially for matters involving multiple jurisdictions? This problem gave birth to Fibonacci, LPM technology that was rolled out to a number of international law firms and corporate legal departments.
